Meet the Board

At the heart of the Argyle Community Parks Foundation is a dedicated team of volunteers who share a common passion: building a stronger, more connected community through vibrant public spaces. Our Board is composed of local residents, parents, educators, and community advocates—each bringing unique experience, insight, and commitment to our shared goal of making Argyle’s parks places where kids can dream, seniors can thrive, and everyone belongs.

Guided by our mission to create clean, safe, and inclusive spaces for all, the Board works hand-in-hand with the Village and School District to turn vision into reality. Whether it’s planning new amenities, engaging with residents, or securing resources, every member plays a vital role in fostering joy, wellness, and togetherness throughout our community.

We are proud to serve as stewards of your parks, and we are always looking for ways to listen, collaborate, and grow. Because when neighbors come together, great things happen.

Kayla Nikula – President

Kayla Nikula lives in rural Argyle with her husband, where they are raising three energetic boys. As a parent, she understands the importance of creating safe, engaging, and inclusive spaces where all children can grow and thrive. Her passion for accessibility is deeply personal—growing up with a sibling who has special needs gave her firsthand insight into how inclusive environments can positively shape lives and communities.

Kayla brings her professional expertise as a financial advisor, serving clients throughout Wisconsin and in more than 20 other states. Through her role with the Argyle Community Parks Foundation, she is committed to helping build a park system that welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities.

Ashley Bredesen – Vice President

Ashley has worked with many different aged children for over 23 years either through a daycare center, school setting, or summer camps. Ashley is currently helping children at the Pecatonica Area School District as a paraprofessional in the 4K classroom. During the summer months, she is the Director/Coordinator of Camp Pecatonica for school-aged students. Ashley lives in Argyle with her husband and daughter. She is very excited to bring her experience of working with children to this committee and to the community of Argyle.

Janelle Ritschard – Treasurer

Janelle is a wife, and mother of 2 active children. As a licensed massage therapist with personal interests in powerlifting and bodybuilding, she understands the importance of grounding and physical activity. Janelle wants to help offer spaces where community members, of all ages, can connect with the Earth and be physically active.

Joe Schutte – Secretary

Joe serves as Lafayette County Supervisor for Argyle and the Director of Community Development for the Village of Argyle, where he is dedicated to building connections, supporting local businesses, and creating spaces where the community can thrive. With a background in driving transformation and problem-solving, Joe brings skills in collaboration, community engagement, and long-term planning to his role. He is leading efforts to improve Argyle’s parks—starting with safe, modern playground equipment—because he believes public spaces are where neighbors come together, children grow, and the heart of a community truly shines.

Brenda Washa – Director

As a mom of two young children, I’m passionate about getting my family outdoors, doing fun crafts with my kids, and bringing creativity into everyday life. Being newer to the Argyle area, I’m excited to get involved in the community where I can be part of creating fun events for local families, and make a lasting impact. And especially by supporting efforts to build a new playground where kids can play, grow, and connect.
